Le fournil de Steve
Le fournil de Steve
Plaine
Description
Located in Plaine, in the Bruche Valley, Le Fournil de Steve is a small artisanal bakery.
Here, everything is made on a small scale, from the dough to the final sale. The breads are made with natural sourdough starter, using flour from organic, locally grown wheat, and then baked in a wood-fired oven.
Steve uses local ingredients as much as possible: flour, eggs, milk, butter, honey… The idea is simple: to make good bread, support local producers, and maintain a genuine connection with customers.
In addition to sourdough breads, the bakery offers, depending on the week, pure butter brioches, kougelhopfs, cookies, as well as ropfkueche, a brioche specialty from Rosheim, the town where Steve grew up.
Generous and hearty, the ropfkueche has now become one of Le Fournil’s signature items.
Le Fournil also features a “Producers’ Corner,” where you can find local products from partner producers.
