Conference: Vosges women in the Great War, on both sides of the front line
Conference: Vosges women in the Great War, on both sides of the front line
Bourg Bruche
Description
Mary-Gabrielle, Irma, Bernadette, Clémence, Henriette and Marie, at different ages and under different social statuses, all have one thing in common: they lived through the Great War and passed on this "experience" to our contemporaries. On either side of a specific front line, between 1914 and 1918, sometimes under fire, they show us the daily life, made up of violence and constraints, even surrealism, of a woman in Déodatie, the only region of the Vosges entirely cut in two by the war. Six women representative of a First World War that is no longer viewed solely through the prism of the poilus and battle-history.
