Les Scènes Sauvages: THE BLIND

Duration 1h15 Colroy la Roche

Description

*Les Aveugles* plunges us into a sensory world; it is the poignant story of a group of blind women and men, lost in the heart of an ancient forest. They await the return of the priest who serves as their guide. The audience bears witness to this dizzying wait, which invites them to experience something unique as night falls: the experience of blindness. In a natural, unadorned landscape, the characters come to life through their words and reveal their vulnerabilities—at times grotesque, at times tragic. Their personalities take shape, their individualities draw closer, and through this ordeal, a sense of community emerges. That is what this is all about: seeing, observing, feeling, and listening.
Following *Intérieur* in 2019, Marie Schmitt returns to the works of author Maurice Maeterlinck with *Les Aveugles* for the festival’s now highly anticipated production.
