Description
An emblematic demarcation point between France and the German Empire, the Donon and its surroundings were the scene of fierce fighting from August 1914 onwards. The stakes were so high that it was deemed vital to establish a cordon of defensive devices. Today, these buildings, trenches and shelters, left as they were, form the breadcrumb trail through an episode of fierce face-offs between 2 armies ready to make any bold move and sacrifice to defend the colors of the flag...
